TV Violence in New Zealand

In December 2002 the Minister of Broadcasting Hon Steve Maharey established a working group which represented broadcasters, regulators, producers, academics and community advocacy groups to investigate current levels of violence on television in New Zealand in an international context. The group was also required to commission new research to inform its deliberations and recommendations.

This website provides both the report and the recommendations of the Working Group to Government and the complete research report commissioned from the Centre for Communication Research at Auckland University of Technology.
